"Oh, Canada..."

In five days I am going to my favorite place in ENTIRE world (okay, home and Great America are tied with it). My family owns (along with our relatives, it's not just us) a gorgeous cabin on a remote island in Lake Ontario. Oh boy, is it amazing there. Sure we don't have electricity (the fridge and stove run on gas, though) and we have to use an (albeit clean and sanitary) outhouse, but besides that (and the bugs) it's PARADISE. It's the first time we've gone since '05 (come to think of it, it's the first time we've even taken a family vacation in three years...) The only negative is, Anna and Jeremy can't make it. *sigh* Anna's love for Canada is on the same nostalogic level (does that make sense?) as mine. We just ADORE (I'm sure using capitals alot, aren't I? :oP) going to the island. Oh, but the fact that to save money we're not staying at a hotel in between is a stinker. Yes, we're attempting to make the fifteen-hour car trip in one day. Triple :oP :oP :oP Of course, it may not be my place to say so, as I'm the only one who doesn't drive, LOL :o)

Still, I have to get aLOT of things done in 5 days. I have to:

  • Pack (that's obvious)
  • Clean my room (which is a pigsty, therefore a big job, and I want to be able to relax when we return)
  • Do laundry, for the trip and after, which includes clothes, towels and sheets
  • Go shopping for snacks and car activities
  • Vacuum out the van (I volunteered to do this, since again, I won't drive)
  • Vaccum my room
  • Put all my songs onto my new IPOD! :o) Which hasn't gotten here yet but it's coming!
  • Find someone to take of Eponine (Katarina said she would actually, so consider that checked)
  • Clean Ep's cage before taking her to her caretaker. Give her millet and lots of love.
And what I've got going on, which prevents me from doing those things:
  • Tomorrow: Broadway Bound, a show that my good friend asked me to be in, yay!
  • Saturday: Nothing, and that will be my free day.
  • Sunday: Church, of course, and The Dark Knight - woohoo!!!!!
  • Monday: Les Mis practice (another woohoo!)
To be honest I like it better having lots to do. It makes the wait go faster. As of 3 a.m. I have 4 days to get everything done! Adrianna isn't coming until after vacation; I love her dearly but we've been squabbling a bit lately so it will be good to take a break.

Have a GREAT weekend everyone :o)

What's been going on?

Whoo! I've been having quite the busy week! First off was my first Les Miz practice - actually just a meeting, but it all seems so REAL now, that I'm doing this, I'm living out my dream,

Wednesday and Thursday were fair days; happily I got two blue ribbons, one on my pie crust and one on my shortbread cookies. I only got a red on my paper art project, but I threw it together last minute so it's alright.

There's alot more I want to say, but something's wrong with the internet and I had better get one last very important thing said:

One of my very favorite blogs to read is Hannah and Lily. Today, exactly one year ago, Hannah went to be with God. She drowned in a terrible accident...she was an amazing child, full of life and vibrancy, and I find myself with tears in my eyes the days her wonderful mother Rachael writes of how much she misses her baby. Hannah truly did live her life to the fullest and she's inspired me to do so. Han was a very sparkly, girly child and in honor of her I've put on a pink shirt, mardi gras necklaces, a belt simply covered in sequins, and lastly a beautiful pink jeweled tiara! I even rubbed vaseline on my cheeks because Hannah loved it!!
In keeping to "live my life to the fullest" I even ate candy for breakfast today! :oD :oP

Thankyou Miss Rachael for telling us of your awesome little girl and Thankyou Hannah for teaching us all a valuable lesson. Have fun in Heaven and one day we'll see you there!!! :oD

Happy times

On Wednesday night my BF Katarina came over to sleepover. We picked delicious black raspberries at this one lady's house and then went to my youth group Oasis. Kat was a visitor and she said she really liked it so hopefully we'll make it a weekly sleepover so we can go together...at least until Les Mis rehearsals start (both a ugh! and a YAY! at the same time :oP)

Yesterday Adrianna, Kat and I made a Les Mis replica with beanie baby cats. Then I had been invited to one of my young CTE friends to a beach bash party and we went after we dropped Katarina off.

Lemme tell you...I don't do so well in murky water. Especially when I can't see the bottom. :shudder: Luckily, God so graciously made me forget the "dead marshes" scene from the Two Towers until we left. LOL!

I played with little Grace and we swam back and forth, getting on and jumping off this wooden raft. Once it got deep I couldn't see anything, and Grace would go underwater and scare the bejeepers out of me until she came back up.

So after awhile we got bored of falling off the "water totter" and searched for seashells. The first one I found, I swam down to the bottom and just as I was reaching for it when a pretty large fish swam right past me...ACH!!! Well let's just say I freaked out and in doing so freaked Grace out...:oP

Anyway last night Mom, Dad and Evan were going to see a movie and Mom said she wanted me to come but they can't afford, what with an upcoming Canada vacation, a movie ticket. I decided not to pay for myself since Mamma Mia (YAYY!!) is coming out and I wanted to save for that...but Mom just said come along and we'll pay so I did.

We saw "Journey to the center of the Earth" in 3-D. Lemme tell you, I'm not a fan of 3-D. It makes me dizzy. However, the movie was SO good it made up for it and I'm happy we saw it!! Oh it was SO good! I recommend anyone who can, see this movie!

And so I had a nice week and I can't wait for the events next week :o)

Confused.

I'm confused.

Ever since the cast list for Les Mis came out, there's been quite a few complaints. Already, people are dropping. 12 so far, I've heard. And some of those people are telling me that the show's gonna be awful.

I shouldn't listen to them, should I?

Except, they're SMART. They know their stuff when it comes to theatre, and granted, they could very well be right.

But perhaps their negative attitude is due to anger at they themselves not getting a very big part.

Perhaps they're wrong, so wrong, and this show will be fantastic and one of the best experiences.
Or it'll flop and whenever I think of Les Mis I'll think of..badness (for lack of a better word, hee hee)

I don't know. I just don't know.

The rehearsals just aren't coming fast enough!!!

Happy Independance Day

Happy 4th of July!

I'm not doing much today - hanging out until fireworks. Well, at least it's something, but we usually get together with relatives and whatnot; however, I have a birthday party tomorrow at my very good friend Kat's house, and we're going swimming. YAY! :o)

Have a great weekend everybody! :o)
